K18129: THE DIAMOND THAT CUTS THROUGH ILLUSION: Commentary on the Prajnaparamita Diamond Sutra

22.11.2018 - 25.11.2018

A Course with Thay Phap An and Sister Song Nhiem

TheDiamond Sutra is a wonderful contribution to the world of human thinking and literature from the Buddhist tradition. It presents a dialogue between the Buddha and his disciple Subhuti, that illustrates how our minds construct limited categories of thought. It offers us alternative perspectives so that we may explore a deeper reality. With the sutra’s support we learn to engage our environment with reverence and seek more harmonious relationships. We learn to act appropriately and effectively in the world.
We will study the sutra supported by our daily mindfulness practice, so we won’t get lost in the world of intellect, words and thoughts. The practice will help us to open our mind and see the world in a different light. By understanding the sutra we will understand Buddhist teachings on a deeper level. It is an introduction into the long history of Buddhist thought and philosophy.
