Description of the course/retreat:

Living together in harmony is an art. We all long to feel understood, respected and connected, yet living with others can also bring differences, misunderstandings and challenges. How can we learn to live together peacefully while honoring the diversity of our world? In this international retreat, we will explore the art of living together in harmony through the practice of mindfulness. We will look at our relationships with ourselves and with the people around us, as well as at our place within the larger human family.

We come from different countries, cultures, religions and life experiences. We may speak different languages, have different traditions and see the world from different perspectives. Rather than seeing these differences as barriers, we can learn to approach them with curiosity, respect and openness. Deep listening and loving speech can help us understand one another beyond our differences and recognize our shared humanity.

The teachings of Interbeing remind us that we do not exist separately from one another. Our lives are deeply connected with our families, communities, cultures and the natural world. What we think, say and do has an impact beyond ourselves. At the same time, we are shaped by the people and conditions around us.

During the retreat, we will explore how mindful breathing, sitting and walking meditation, deep listening, loving speech and mindful sharing can transform the way we relate to ourselves and to others. We will also practice being together in everyday activities such as eating, working and resting. These simple moments can become opportunities to cultivate understanding, connection and joy.

Living in harmony does not mean that we always agree or that our differences disappear. It means learning to embrace diversity without losing our connection with one another. It means listening before judging, understanding before reacting, and finding ways to live together with respect and compassion.

In a world where people and cultures are increasingly connected, the practice of living together in harmony is more important than ever. We will explore how our personal practice can contribute to greater peace within our families, communities and societies – and how each of us can become a small seed of peace in the world.

Together, as an international Fourfold Sangha, we will have time to slow down, nourish ourselves and experience the joy of practicing together. We may discover that although our backgrounds

are different, we share many of the same hopes: to be understood, to love and be loved, to live in peace and to contribute to a more compassionate world.

In the evenings, we come together to practice one of the following: sitting meditation, Earth Touchings, the Five Mindfulness Trainings or Beginning Anew.

We warmly invite you to join us and explore together the art of living in harmony – within ourselves, with one another, across cultures and religions, and as one human family.
