This 4-day course at the European Institute of Applied Buddhism (EIAB) in Waldbröl, Germany, offers a unique blend of scientific insights and traditional Buddhist practices to deepen your practice of compassion. Participants will explore the neurological, psychological, and organizational foundations of compassion while applying practices to cultivate it in daily life. The retreat includes meditation, mindful movement, and compassionate communication, along with exercises focused on self-compassion, mindful listening, and appreciative interaction.
We will also explore the four compassionate behaviors (noticing, making sense, tuning in, and taking action), and reflecting on possible ways to awaken compassion at work through roles, routines, networks, and culture. Participants will engage in peer exchanges and self-reflection sessions to develop new ways or deepen them to create a more compassionate work environment. The retreat also offers time for a nature walk (if weather permitting), group sharing, and moments of noble silence to integrate the teachings and foster emotional resilience, mindfulness, and compassionate action.
