K18004: CAN THE SUN SHINE EVERY DAY? – Positive Psychology: Designing Your Own Good Fortune

11.01.2018 - 14.01.2018

Class with Thay Phap An and Sister Song Nghiem

Is it possible to blossom as a human being to our fullest potential?
Mahayana Buddhism and positive psychology both answer: yes. It is possible to let our Buddha nature blossom and cultivate our life using insights gained by Martin Seligman and other psychologists in 1989 in the US. The teaching about Buddha nature results from looking deeply into human nature from a Buddhist perspective. In this class we will have the opportunity to study both of these teachings closely in order to let our life blossom and offer it in our confusing times as a positive contribution to the world. In addition to meditation we will also practice simple Qi Gong and Tai Chi exercises, as well as deep relaxation. We will fortify our bodies as receptacles for a wholesome healthy psyche and our happiness.
