K17060: FOCUSING – EMBODIED AWARENESS (Module II) Being in touch with change

11.05.2017 - 14.05.2017

Course with Maria Schüller and Gudrun Abrecht; monastic advisor: Br. Phap Tri

Focusing offers a special quality of awareness experienced with and in the body. It helps to mobilize difficult emotions and behavior patterns and to allow liberating processes to arise from an attitude of ‘unknowing’ curiosity. The basis for this is Eugene Gendlin’s understanding of the living human body as a process of extended awareness. When we explore this further as a way of living we come in contact with the deeper nature of change. In this course we will learn the first steps of this process and develop our compassion for ourselves and others. Similarities and differences to Buddhist practice will be discussed if desired. Focusing changes our sensory experience, how we live, meditate and work – every day.
This focusing course is open to all those interested in focusing, and is at the same time the first module for the certified training program of the Focusing Institute Cologne.
The first module (Focusing 1) happened in November 2016.

When making a donation to the lay teachers we ask you to bear in mind that this course is recognized as part of the certified focusing training program.
