K2444-5: PEACE IN ONESELF - PEACE IN THE WORLD: Step-by-Step Introduction to Mindfulness and Meditation Practice

31.10.2024 - 03.11.2024

“When you produce peace and happiness in yourself, you begin to realize peace for the whole world. With the smile that you produce in yourself, with the conscious breathing you establish within yourself, you begin to work for peace in the world.”
– Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh –

Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh shows us how to transform environments that are often filled with anger, stress and frustration into islands of peace by bringing the energy of mindfulness into our daily life activities.

The world today needs more people who can bring peace to themselves, their families, their country and the world.

We will focus on basic meditation practices taught by Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh at Plum Village Meditation School that we can apply in our daily lives.

We will meditate together while sitting - still and guided - and while walking - slowly and in the forest.

In addition, we will practice loving speech and deep listening during mindful sharing.

In this way, we cultivate abiding in the present moment to transform suffering and find peace for ourselves and the world.

There are also introductions to eating meditation, metta meditation and deep relaxation.

“Humankind has become a very dangerous species. We need people who can sit still and be able to smile, who can walk peacefully. We need people like that in order to save us. Buddhism says that you are that person, that every one of us is that person.”

“If in our daily life we can smile, if we can be peaceful and happy, not only we, but everyone, will profit from it. This is the most basic kind of peace work.”
- Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh -
