K1944-1: THE WAY OUT OF FEAR

31.10.2019 - 03.11.2019

Course 4D with Thay Phap An and Sister Song Nghiem

Everybody experiences fear at some time or another. Fear is part of life. It is completely natural and in certain situations even necessary. However fear can be a burden and lead to severe mental problems. Approximately 15 in every 100 people suffer from an anxiety disorder; women are diagnosed with this significantly more often than men.
It manifests as tension, irritability, sleep disorders, heart palpitations, abdominal problems or difficulties swallowing, sweating, dizziness, problems concentrating etc. An anxiety disorder can significantly impair the quality of life – sometimes to such an extent that it becomes impossible to work or even leave the house.

In this course we will learn, with the help of meditation and sharing, to confront our fear. Relaxation training and physical exercises such as Qi Gong and Tai Chi can help alleviate the symptoms and support the treatment of anxiety disorders. The understanding of Buddhist psychology helps to calm and strengthen the mind.

Course language: English and German
